Reseller Web Hosting: In this type of the web hosting the clients themselves become web hosts. Resellers sell the shared web hosting, and many web hosts have reseller accounts in order to provide hosting for clients. Reseller accounts may vary in size and may have their own virtual server or a collocated server. Many resellers provide the technical support themselves.

Dedicated Hosting Service: The client in this service gets its own server but doesn’t have a full control over it. The client doesn’t own the server but can access the server. The client has full administrative access to the server, for example, the root user accesses Linux server or administrator accesses the Windows server. The client is solely responsible for the security and maintenance of its own dedicated server.

Collocated Server Hosting: It is quite similar to the dedicated hosting service, except that the user owns the collocated server and web hosts just provide the server space and maintains the server. It is a quite expensive web hosting service and the most powerful one too. The client has his own administrator visit the data center on site to do any hardware modification or upgrade.

Managed Hosting Service (Types of Web Hosting): In this case, the subscriber gets his or her own server, but doesn’t have full control over it. They cannot access the server via root in case of Linux or administrator in case of Windows. Only they can do is manage their data via File Transfer Protocol. The subscriber doesn’t have full control over the server so as to ensure the quality of service by reducing the risk of server modification creating configuration problems.

Cloud Hosting: A cloud-hosted website is one which other computers in the cloud network will compensate when any single piece of hardware goes down. So, cloud hosting platform is the most reliable, powerful hosting in terms of clustered load balanced servers. Any disruptions like power failure, natural disasters doesn’t affect the cloud hosted sites. Providers of cloud hosting platform only charge subscribers only for resources consumed by them. Since cloud hosting is decentralized, subscribers are unaware of the server location which aids in data security and privacy concerns.

Clustered Hosting: This has multiple servers hosting the same content to get multiple benefits like mass management of clients by web hosts. Clustered servers are an effective solution for high-availability dedicated hosting or creating reliable web hosting.

Grid Hosting: It is a type of  web hosting which is distributed and  where a server cluster has multiple nodes and looks like a grid.

Home Server: It is a private server, usually a single machine at a private location. It can be used to host more than one website having a consumer grade internet connectivity like broadband.
